The federal government is in the midst of a fundamental shift in the way it does business—driven by technologies like cloud and big data, and by the need to secure agencies against cyber threats.

Companies that want to win in this market need to do more than respond to RFPs – they have to be leading the conversation in traditional and social media and at key events where policymakers and decision-makers gather.

That’s what we have been doing for tech companies since our founding, and I’m excited that today we announced key investments to become the number one shop in town for companies that are serious about this market.

RH Strategic Expands in DC, Making Bold Investments in Public Sector Growth

Jen Bemisderfer Joins as Managing Director

RH Strategic announced today several appointments and key investments in its strategy to become Washington, D.C.’s preeminent PR firm for technology companies pursuing growth in the public sector.

Jen Bemisderfer has been named the firm’s Managing Director for the D.C. office. Bemisderfer is a D.C. technology PR insider, whose career spans multiple well-respected PR agencies, in-house communications at the Consumer Electronics Association, and communications and media relations for the Technology CEO Council. She is also the Accreditation Co-Chair for the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. Sarah Horowitz, former deputy press secretary for the U.S. Department of Commerce, has joined the firm as a Senior Account Executive. Kevin Eike, formerly with Ketchum, has joined RH Strategic as Account Executive.

The trio joins a technology PR and public affairs team that has been growing since RH Strategic’s founding in 2007, representing start-ups and Fortune 500 companies seeking to make their mark in Washington. The team specializes in positioning brands for public sector growth by connecting executives with influential reporters and think tanks, placing them as thought leaders in top speaking venues, and fueling social media engagement with policymakers, regulators, associations, and the media. RH Strategic’s top segments within public sector are security, healthcare and big data.

In addition, the firm recently moved to new offices above the McPherson Square Metro, doubling space and providing more room for expansion.

“The federal government is in the midst of a fundamental shift in the way it does business—driven by technologies like cloud and big data, and by the need to secure agencies against cyber threats,” said John Raffetto, CEO and co-founder of RH Strategic. “Companies that want to win in this market need to do more than respond to RFPs – they have to be leading the conversation in traditional and social media and at key events where policymakers and decision-makers gather. That’s what we have been doing for tech companies since our founding, and now we’re investing to become the number one shop in town for companies that are serious about this market.”

“I’m proud of the team we have assembled in DC, and this new round of appointments sets up RH Strategic for growth in key areas, like cybersecurity,” said David Herman, the firm’s president and co-founder. “Jen is well respected throughout town and is known for providing strategic PR counsel that gets bottom line results. Our DC team is hungry to find the most innovative technology companies that can lead our federal government into the future, and we will deliver the public sector visibility they need to make an impact.”
