Katie O’Brien combines traditional PR tactics and digital marketing strategies to drive successful campaigns for RH Strategic’s clients in the technology, cybersecurity and financial sectors.
Her knowledge of new media and the digital content landscape enables her to generate content for a variety of platforms, including newsletters, social media and more traditional media outlets. She also has a background in PR and marketing for client events, including in-person conferences and custom virtual experiences. Her expertise working with clients in highly technical fields enables her to craft compelling and complex stories in a way that is accessible for target audiences and media outlets.
As a content creator, she focuses on writing stories that position her clients as subject-matter experts. During the pandemic, she successfully led media efforts to position a cloud cybersecurity client as a leader in secure remote access solutions. She has also placed client stories in a variety of top-tier trade outlets, including Dark Reading, C4ISRNET, Cyber Defense Magazine, eCampus News, Federal News Network, and Government Computer News/Federal Computer Week.
A graduate of James Madison University, Katie completed her first PR internship while studying abroad in London. Prior to joining RH Strategic, she worked in PR and digital marketing at 300Brand, where she honed her technology PR skills.
I’m proudest of…
My ability to strategically align key messages with content strategies in order to place client stories in the right outlet at the right time. Every deliverable, whether it’s a press release, byline or social media campaign, should serve the broader business, marketing and public relations goals.
