We were recently in the Windy City, staffing our public safety software client, SunGard Public Sector, at the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference at McCormick Place West.
SunGard, which sells records management system (RMS), computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and a variety of other software solutions to public safety agencies across the country, was a platinum sponsor of the annual conference. As the PR firm, we were responsible for promoting SunGard’s presence at the show. We pitched the media in attendance and coordinated press visits to SunGard’s booth at the conference. We also were responsible for tweeting, blogging and promoting SunGard’s presence externally.
The biggest highlight and newsmaker from the show outside of SunGard’s innovative presentation was President Obama’s address on October 27, 2015. The President, who addressed the conference in person at the general assembly, spoke about gun violence and making communities safer.
SunGard wrapped up IACP with a panel discussion on interoperability and data sharing on Tuesday, the 27th of October. The panel, which RH coordinated, brought together police chiefs from Fort Lauderdale, Winston-Salem, and Purdue University to talk about what it’s like to share information with other agencies. It was gratifying to help set up the panel, arrange the questions, coordinate with the panelists, drive attendance and see the panel through to its conclusion.
We’re looking forward to working with SunGard for IACP 2016 in San Diego!
